Responsibility:
•Plan and configure communication infrastructure installations
•Install CAT5, CAT6, and fiber optic cabling system
•Install data, wireless, and video products
•Test and document to ensure quality of service
•Analyze and resolve communication issues in a timely and accurate manner
Qualifications (Preferred by not required)
•At least 2 years experience in cable installation (Copper and Fiber of different size and type)
•Knowledge and experience in installation of cable Infrastructure, J Hooks, Cable Trays and other pathways. Knowledge of installation and bending conduit is not needed
•Knowledge and experience in termination and testing Cat 5e, 6, and 6a Copper Cabling (RJ45 Jacks and Patch Panels)
•Knowledge and experience in termination and testing Multi-mode and Single-mode Fiber Optic Cabling (htmelt, Unicam, Fusion splicing, etc.)
•Knowledge and experience in following applicable OSHA safety procedures and ability to work in confined spaces
•BICSI installation certification is desirable
Work Conditions:
•Occasional evening and weekend work to meet deadlines
•Participate in training sessions, presentations, meetings
•Ability to lift heavy to moderate equipment and tools
•Not afraid of heights and ability to climb ladders
